Gek-Go!

This is a beta version of the game.  It features a mostly finalised game.  Only Keyboard & Mouse along with Xbox controllers are supported as input devices in this build.

PLEASE NOTE:  A last minute bug causes a fatal error upon starting the game.  As a result, water has been removed from underground areas.  This results in being able to see the skybox.  It may seem like the player can climb through but the player will be reset.

UPDATE:  The previously uploaded build seemingly did not work on all system.  A new one has been uploaded 05/05/2022 16:00

Game Objective

Collect the three gems to activate the portal.  Explore along the way to collect lychee fruit and coins.  Coins require more exploration or a challenge to complete.  Can you find them all?

The controls are as follows:

• Free Look = Mouse movement / Right thumb stick
• Move Forward = W / Left thumb stick
• Move Backwards = S / Left thumb stick
• Turn Left = A / Left thumb stick
• Turn Right = D / Left thumb stick
• Jump = SPACE / A
• Pause = Esc
• Reset Camera = Q / Right Thumbstick Click
• Insert Gem = F / Up on Dpad

What’s missing / still to do?

• Audio implementation, unfortunately, we have no dedicated team member who specialises in audio.
• Movement tweaks (no more major changes)
• Setting menu needs a final pass
• Tweaks to movement animation implementation (blendspaces, etc)
• Pop-up text to let the player know to insert gems
• Camera sensitivity options
• There is a new water material that has not made it into the build but exists
• General bug fixes

Known issues

• The player can sometimes get stuck inside geometry although this has been reduced
• A fatal bug has meant that water is missing from underground areas of the game in this build
• The player will not always rotate to the surface they are on properly although this has again been reduced
• If Master volume is set to 0, sound will become disabled and can't be re-enabled.
• Some invisible surfaces may be climbable
